Occupy Bolingbrook? Are you the 99%...

A local grass roots effort was launched last month with the slogan,

"Take our 99% to your local governments!" 

Bolingbrook is one of the first stomping grounds for the new Occupy Bolingbrook Grass Root Efforts.  We spoke to the chair yesterday and listed the focus below:

1.  STOP Corporate and Government Greed. (Officials are taking high donations for personal war chests from companies that do business in Bolingbrook.  They are heavily involved in state wide politics involving lobbyists and big business buyouts.  They have fattened their wallets while draining yours.  They give free tax breaks and free land to large corporations, while raising your property and sales tax.)

2.  STOP increasing taxes while decreasing services (Too much bond debt, no plan to pay it off, high paid administrators, cutting lower jobs while giving raises to over paid administrators.,.. Don't forget they raise your taxes, added restaurant taxes, and hotel taxes...  It is still not enough for current out of control spending)

3.  STOP high paid pensions and bloated on the job perks. (They are boosting pay before retirements and adding perks to the high paying salaries.)

4.  STOP donating tax revenue generated by the residents to pet charities

5.  STOP using tax payer money for personal business ventures (like the Golf Club, Airport, and Americana Estates)

The theme I see is that the rich in Bolingbrook are getting richer while the poor and middle class are getting poorer.  From my pocket to yours buddy, and I am not down with that!
