Bolingbrook's Snow Plowing

We have been getting mixed messages in this week about the plowing in Bolingbrook.  Last year it was reported that the snow plowing was dismal.  This year, the residents want to know what is taking so long for their streets to be plowed.  They pay taxes, don't they?  Is that not a service?

We are on the scene to see if the next snow sees govermental officials streets being plowed prior to other residents.  Last year we saw this to be the case.

  1. A village trustee lives on our block and I can tell you that our street is plowed/salted better than the surrounding streets in the subdivision.

  2. My husband and I live in the Fields Of Bradford subdivision. Our home is located in the center of the neighborhood. Although we have lived here for 15 years and despite calls we have made with hopes to address this situation, we have not yet seen any concern on the part of the village up to this point. They seem to consider the interior part of the neighborhood less of a concern than the outer perimeter. Try to get to those "main streets" from our streets. It is impossible
Naperville is looking very promising to us come springtime.

  3. I live on Castle court in Bolingbrook. Bolingbrook does a horrible job of clearing and getting to our street. I'd much rather not pay my taxes and contract out a service that wouldn't forget us. Several people on Castle court have called and we just get the run around. We get, The courts are last and the secondaries are last. BULL CRAP! King Arthur Court DONE, Forest Way court DONE, Sheilds court DONE, Rothbury drive (a Secondary) DONE, Faversham Court off of Pinecrest DONE. They alwyas forget about Castle court because it's right past Rockhurst. When the garbage man who picked up today tells you that all the other streets were done and you guys got screwed tells you alot. But, my fault. the Village knows what it's doing right....NOT! Plow my street. I'm not asking for it to be down to the pavement where I can eat off of it, just run your truck down it once and back so we can get out. I saw 3 trucks go down Pinecrest yesterday...2 had the plow UP IN THE AIR! Drop the plow and run down my block, duh!

  4. I live in a cul de sac and have called public works and the snow hotline several times and have been told there is no ETA on the clearing of the cul de sacs. The drive across from us which is a piddly little side street is done and clear and the road that runs in front of our cul de sac is clear. I find it hard to believe that 48 hours since the blizzard began that they cannot get a plow truck out here to plow our court. One of our neighbors hired a plow company to clear them out and a few others have shoveled their way to the clearing. I saw 2 plow trucks yesterday drive right by (plowing the street out in front that is more than passable). I agree with the comment above, I don't want it to be perfect just plow it so we can get out. I slipped and fell on Tuesday night and have been hobbling around on one leg hoping I can get to a Dr. I explained this to public works and all I get is "I'm sorry ma'am but we are working on it." I'm glad to see my tax dollars hard at work!!!!!
