The whole purpose to pay for local taxes is for safety. Safety includes fire, police, roads, snow removal... Yet that is the first thing the Mayor and Trustees cut?
Well, all those people in the safety unions voted for Roger because he told you he was NOT going to cut, and he did. He liiiiieeeeeeddddd to you... That should be a song. I hope you learned your lesson.
For the State of the Village, Roger asked for ideas to cut (other than his job). So here you go Roger! Before you cut safety, try cutting these items.
1. Magazine subscriptions (Totalling thousands)
2. Hundreds of thousands to pet charities of your families (Like your daughter who gets paid to run an organization from across the country.)
3. Free rent to PROFITING businesses
4. Expensive napkins in the bathroom of the losing "Golf Club"
5. Free liquor for the Mayor and Trustees
6. Free perks of the heads of Village (Like free dental that costs us thousands a year, cars, etc)
7. Free food for the Mayor and Trustees
8. Additions to the LOSING Airport (We don't need another damn shed) or more runways, fences, etc.
9. Stop spending on legal fees for "looking into" ventures, such as water, electric, etc.
10. Stop passing bonds for business that are likely to fail
11. Donations to charities that don't actually accomplish their missions or goals, or are not registered as not-for-profit with the state.
12. Turn off Christmas lights every now and then. Get rid of the one's down every street!
13. Stop putting in fountains that cost money, require high maintenance and water bills.
14. Stop buying trees for double the price at your pet vendor.
15. Cut all 3% raises in the Village and anyone that makes over $130K a year, should cut at least 10% of their salary. It is a recession after all and we can replace them for half the price,
Which leads me to the large cost, which is what costs us police, fire, and plows...
CUT the $2 Million dollar attorney and hire ONE for $300K!
And last but not least, stop doing illegal acts which is what is costing us attorneys and settlements.
Do you need any more suggestions? It is not rocket science Roger, I mean, don't you read our reports? The above items will save so much money alone, you can beef up our safety again and pay down half our debt. What do you think about that? Are you willing to give up so many perks to show you LOVE Bolingbrook still? I would think so in an election year, right?
All those in favor of keeping thee snow plows working while eliminating pet charity donations, respond below!
All those who wish for the Mayor to announce he will take a perk cut and pay cut, give up his free food, liquor, car allowance, dental 100% costs, etc, comment below. This alone will cut costs by over $50K which would supply us with snow plows for the year.
