Three objections were filed against the candidate petitions for school board members Quigley, Gougis, and Venegas to be put on the April 5 ballot to attempt reelection. Some of the objection reasons were not enough valid signatures, signing for more then one person (Vote with others names?) and having public officials sign during work hours such as Roger's employees at Village Hall.
We will post more information as it becomes available.
We contacted the objector and his statement regarding Gouglis objection was that "Mr. Wayne Kwiat, whom ran for Judgeship in November, failed to notarize some sheets. When Wayne filled it out, he failed to use the stamp, thus invalidating the signatures on the entire page. This left Gouglis with 23 valid which is less than the 50 signatures required."
It is also noted that Steve Quigley only turned in 90 signatures and less then 50 were valid registered voters. It is required that the school board members only get 50 signatures to get on the ballot.
Is it pompous men who act so cavalier? At recent 365U school board meetings Mr. Quigley has blown up at residents he is supposed to be serving. Perhaps he should have been focusing on what he needed to be doing during this election cycle to allow him to have a chance of getting on the ballot for reelection.
