Yes, we know water rates have risen.
Yes, we know that Bolingbrook is desperate to get the water back after they sold it for pennies on a dollar ten years ago. Now the residents are struggling in a bad economy and spending a great deal of our tax dollars on lobbying for this take over, fees for attorneys, and other costs associated with this project.
Yes, we will probably be hit with a HUGE tax increase when Bolingbrook pushes to buy the water company without putting it to a referendum and letting the residents decide.
What Bob Bowen mentioned at the Village Board Meeting is that the only person that has ever gained anything or will gain anything from this debacle is Mr. Roger Claar.
The residents lost when he sold the company, but he got some great donations. The donations stream in with people hired and paid to fight this issue and the bids will PROBABLY be taken by highest bidders to donations on his private fund. Either way the residents loose and the Mayor wins.
But wait, the Mayor's friend Mr Jim Boan, Million Dollar Village Attorney, can charge more too, so we guess he wins as well...
We hope they retire soon, as the residents cannot take this drunken like spending habit much more!
