Following his fourth wife Stacy's mysterious October 28, 2007, disappearance, Peterson announced his plans to retire as a Bolingbrook police sergeant as of December 2007. On November 15, 2007, the Bolingbrook Police Pension Board voted to allow Peterson to collect his pension of $6,067.71 per month,[6] claiming current law gave them no option, as Peterson had not been convicted of a crime.
This put Mr. Peterson into the Illinois Municipal Retirement funds for his income, starting in Nov. 2007.

We are unsure if he is still collecting his IMRF money or not.
But we are sure that the Village of Bolingbrook Treasurers Report, finally posted online, declares him as a paid employee.
The May 1, 2009 to April 2010 annual treasurers report claims that D. Peterson made $73,577 from jail, not counting his IMRF monies.
How could this happen? Is this a payoff for keeping quiet because he knew too much? Is it past money owed to him? Or is it that his retirement fund would not pay his fees? WHAT HAPPENED?
We are researching this and will report when we get more information.
Drew Peterson was fired in the 80s for working with drug dealers while a Bolingbrook cop. Roger Claar was the Police Commissioner when Drew Peterson was hired back after being fired. So how much dirt does Peterson have on Claar--is this a payoff to Peterson to keep him from talking?

Also, I'm pretty sure Police Officers do NOT draw IMRF.
He was fired by the Police Commission, but rehired because of a court order. The commission didn't want him back. Don't see where there is any dirt. Also, Drew still has not been convicted of anything and as much as I hate seeing him get his pension, until he is convicted apparently he's entitled to it.
ReplyDeletei guess everyone is fooled because 2001, i was in the movie when drew arrested me for stealing and let me go when his phone when off, his partner and him was discussing how it was done, u guys are looking in the wrong place, his partner and family member are the key witnesses in the case. i refuse to participate to anyone that questions me in the hearsay results of drew peterson, his character was extraordinary, after he dropped me off i get the hell out town, so that i could watch the birth of my child, and i was a watch out for him on many occasions. drew was very on many of things,it's finally over,thank police for capturing drew!!!!

DeletePolice pensions are paid through IL municipal retirement funds that they pay into throughout their career. I do not think this article is stating that he does not deserve what he paid into. I think this article is stating WHY is he on the PAYROLL? Payroll and Pension are from two different govermnetal bodies. The fact that I see this on the Village of Bolingbrook Treasurers report is not right. Something is wrong here. His checks should come from the IMRF not the Village of Bolingbrook. Something stinks here...
