Missouri and Indiana Towing the Rope on Legalizing Marijuana

With IN and MO towing the rope on medical marijuana, will IL be able to hold out on this issue much longer?  With Wisconsin closing in on the conceal and carry gun laws, IL will be the last one touting this law.  Soon, the marijuana law will follow suit.

The state can save millions on legalizing this, and make millions more on the sale of it.  With IL being so broke, does it have a choice?

In Missouri, if the state approves the ballot language for the proposed Missouri constitutional amendment, supporters would need to collect enough signatures from registered voters by next May to get the question on the November 2012 ballot.  Their measure would decriminalize pot use, possession and small-scale cultivation by Missourians age 21 and older. It would also require the state to issue retail licenses to sell the drug and oversee a medical marijuana program.  Sixteen states have medical marijuana programs. Activists are targeting several other states next year.

  1. I hope this passes. We need a tax break, not a tax hike.
