Trick or Treat Hours are scheduled from 4-7pm in Bolingbrook.
The City of Naperville has no ordinance determining Halloween hours for children.
The Village of Downers Grove will hold trick or treating beginning at noon on Halloween.
Lisle:Saturday, October 30 noon - 3 p.m. Downtown Lisle Merchants
Sunday, October 31 3 p.m. - 8 p.m. Lisle Neighborhoods
Why does Bolingbrook have such limited hours on a Sunday, and right during dinner? Is it because we do not have enough Police to control the situation anymore? Is it because our streets are not as safe? You be the judge.
If you wish your kids to have more then three hours of trick or treating time, take them to Naperville, Downers Grove, or Lisle.

ReplyDeleteFrom 3 to 7:00 seems to be the most popular set of hours. Barrington, Highland Park, Western Springs, Glenview and other "high crime" communities share them. I think that three hours is plenty time to be running to the door for Trick or Treaters.
ReplyDeleteIt appears "High Crime" areas are the focus here... Maybe lower crime rates would mean more cops could help, not less.
ReplyDeleteI think that 3 hours of running the streets is plenty for the children of Bolingbrook. As a homeowner, I like the fact that it is set hours so I know when to be home to monitor the situation in the neighborhood. Also, it keeps the kids off the streets after dark when it is more likely for a kid to get run over by a vehicle.
ReplyDeleteThe Village of Bolingbrook has established the
ReplyDeletefollowing hours and precautions for “Trick or Treating”
on Sunday, October 31, 2010. All children should “Trick
or Treat” between 3:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.
