So... we harp on the Mayor for cutting police while increasing our donations to his pet charities. We wanted to dig into all the organizations that this might include, as we feel we might be missing some. I submitted a FOIA for a list of not-for-profit organizations that the Village donates to and a total of costs. They denied the FOIA claiming the list did not exist.
Why would the list not exist? Shouldn't there be a record of who gets what donations annually? This sounds reckless at best. Unless... are you trying to hide something Mr. Claar?
