Annual Budget Meetings Upset Claar

Mayor Roger Claar dismissed the "bloggers" at the board meeting this week, stating that the board got through the entire budget in the first meeting this year.  They did not keep the next two meetings for residents to ask questions and we have been hit with numerous emails from residents stating that they had marked to go for one or more of the meetings, and are HIGHLY disappointed that it was all rushed in one when they had marked their calendars for others.  They feel deceived and lied to, but hey, isn't that Bolingbrook Politics?

For the sake of the bloggers on this site, (who are a good majority of Roger's own voters and tax payers), we apologize to Roger.  We should have known that a Village could get through the entire annual budget in one meeting.  When everything is rubber stamped and no one on the board questions the spending of the Mayor, it would probably ONLY take a few hours to state each line item, pass it, and go out for drinks as they toast to another raise!  However, we won't apologize to the residents that marked their calendars for the other days to come out and question their government.  It is up to those residents to speak up to the Mayor and tell him.  It is up to the residents to attend the bi-weekly meetings.  It is up to the residents to open their eyes and look at the budget that was just passed.

As always, once the budget is finalized, we will post the critique of where money was mis-managed or could have been moved, to be more productive for the residents.
