The HEART organization works with troubled youth. It gets top dollar for donations from the Village using our tax dollars. Do people realize that when we contribute, as a taxpayer donation from Roger Claar, or individually, that the head of this organization earns a fat salary?
According to the 2009 Tax statements, JoAnn Robinson (founder and owner) earns $62,257.00 per year for part time work in this organization.

This is over 60% of the money they make per year on donations and grants. The money is not going to help the kids in need or give them supplies or a place to go... the money is being used to pay a fat paycheck.
How do you feel donating to her organization? How do you feel that Mr. Claar and the Trustees have been doing just that, with your money?
Another organization exposed...

I would highly suggest that your group spend a few nights with Ms. Robinson.
ReplyDeleteYour opinions would immediately change about salary and the work this fine individual does for the youth of this Community.
Please take the challenge it will change an opinion that until your group does .....has No Merit. John Phillips
I would suggest that Ms. Robinson get off the village dole and raise her funds through private and corporate donations. Taxpayers don't get to choose the charities Mr. Claar decides to support with our dollars. If Mayor Claar feels her services are vital to the community, I suggest he create a new department and hire her to work for the village.
ReplyDeleteWe do not get to choose whether to donate to Heart. Mayor Claar chooses to donate our tax dollars to the Heart Org. and of course he knows what is best for us. She also get use of Village office space for her offices. Why not create a department for her and have her work directly for the mayor? Or she should get off the dole from the mayor with our tax dollars and obtain her financial support from citizens like those above who see the value of her services.
ReplyDeleteI would argue that Ms Robinson, at $ 62,000 a year, is a bargain and probably runs this organization more efficiently and is more productive then a government employee / department would be. Her dedication, to the youths of the village, is legendary.
ReplyDeleteI’m normally not a bleeding heart, but the cost to intervene early and not have these kids end up in jail is probably less expensive then additional police and incarceration.
