April 5th 2011 is the most important election in Bolingbrook since 1986! This is the year that the residents have a choice. A choice of different parties, different candidates, and different issues to chose from. Since 1986, one political party has dominated almost all the boards, people, groups, and issues. In doing so, they have alienated many residents, over spent their share of governmental funds, bullied opposition and residents, became rubber stamped elected officials, and ran the Village and School District like it was still 1986.
This year a few residents have stepped forward to fight the system. They are fighting a broken system. But to do this, they need support, votes, and word of mouth. Bolingbrook finally has a chance for HOPE!
While we intend to cover the election this season, we will not promise to be fair and impartial like most papers. We will tell you what we know and let you make your choices accordingly. Sometimes what we know is positive about some people while others might show negative comments. We will not shield ANY information that we feel is relevant to your decision to vote.
Topics we will be covering in the next few weeks include:
1. Voting record and abilities of the current people in office
2. Personalities, education, and experience of all candidates
3. Platforms and issues that they feel are important
4. Any corruption issues
5. What their stance is to the past issues and current issues
6. What party they stand behind or represent
7. plus much more!
If we are leaning to one candidate over another, it is only because we have spent years researching these individuals, watching them, and in some cases, fighting them as a local watch dog group. If you do not like our opinions, you don't have to read them. We are about truth, justice, and the American Way.
Stay tuned on election coverage as we dive into the Village Elections, then the Schools, followed by the Library and Park District!
