Does Everyone know the TRUTH about the new school debt bill?

Many people do not know that extending the debt actually extends the amounts.  Since it was written the best by this resident, we will post her comments below. Is it too late for the Village and Schools that have created this debt problem, for it to be fixed?  Will Bolingbrook homes ever sell in the future and will current residents stay to pay these high taxes?  We think not...

Valley View becomes the first district in state history to retroactively overturn the terms in a voter approved bond referendum. HB5289 does not give "local school districts the ability to extend the timeframe for paying back debt", HB5289 gives only Valley View the ability to retroactively extend the timeframe for paying back voter approved referendum debt from 20 to 25 years.
HB5289 was a bill for library funding. Valley View hired JAR Consulting (without board approval 1-3-11), a lobbying firm, to draft an amendment, senate amendment 1, to extend Valley View's debt repayment on a previously voter approved bond referendum. The nongermane amendment 1 was tacked onto HB5289. The bill was pushed through during the veto session, and passed both houses, all before the 1-10-11 board meeting when Asst. Supt. Gary Grizaffi requested board approval for the lobbying contract.
The board admitted at last night's meeting that debt service will continue to climb each year for the next 10 years when it levels out at $34 million/year. Taxpayers will pay more, so much more, that when questioned, the board would not publicly state how much additional debt will be added to the district's debt over the 22 year period.

WE SAY TO VOTE OUT ALL INCUMBENTS FOR SCHOOL BOARD AND VILLAGE!
