Rhonda Reed-Slaughter Runs for Trustee

Rhonda Reed-Slaughter is running for Trustee for the April 5, 2011 election.  She was the only one to run for Trustee in 2009.  She fell just short of a win in 2009 and her showing this year should yield a win. 

Many people have wondered why we support Rhonda in her efforts to run for Trustee and to endorse her.  Here is our story...

Rhonda is one of the few residents who spend 40 hours a week contributing to the community.  Although not many people know this because she is not out attending all the events and show boating, she does it behind the scenes and selflessly.  She runs a web site called www.thenumbercrunchers-bolingbrook.com and takes hours a day to research, investigate, coordinate, and project manage the site.  This site does not accept money and cannot be subjected to corruption, which is a strong asset to the residents.  The site looks at the numbers of our local government and addresses local issues.  She uses her extensive education and experience to run this site... of which not many in Bolingbrook could have done.

Rhonda's volunteer full time job on this site allows her time to spend with her children, of which she is very devoted.  She is active in their lives.  Most people do not realize that Rhonda has put her accounting career on hold to run this company and spend time with her family.  She had debated running for a larger position in the November election for a Will County office, but realized her dedication was strictly to Bolingbrook and its residents.  She is not a politician, just a concerned resident with many connections.

In the entire time that the Bolingbrook Report and Bolingbrook Mayor site has been operating, they have not seen someone as dedicated to the concerns of the residents and as brave as Rhonda.  She has bi-passed the most common fears, stood up strong, became a voice for the residents, is a great role model, and has nothing to gain from her work.  We call her and Bob Bowen local hero's.  This puts her in our top three pick for trustee.  We encourage all the residents to support our recommendation and endorsement and pick Rhonda for Trustee this election.
