This picture was used last year to show the the current trustees walked right behind Roger Claar and he walked them right into the drain... This is where they will be going come April 5...
A resident stated at a board meeting that the trustees were "Little ducks following Mamma Duck and rubber stamping votes".
"He is like the bull dog that latches on and can't be shaken off" Bonnie Alicea stated. "For two years now Bob has worked hard exposing the current trustees and Mayor for their poor spending habits, raking up hundreds of millions in debt and using pay to play tactics with our tax dollars. I will never forget his attack about the mafia, the losing business ventures, and the bond debt that has no game plan of payoffs, and Bob's reaction to it. He is dedicated and once you see the truth, it is hard not to start to take it personal when it is your money paying for these things."
Jay Washington of the Bolingbrook Report states, "Bob is driven by two factors... the first factor is to lower the debt and stop the corruption. The second is to give the Village back to the rightful owners... the residents."
Most people do not know Bob's full story, so we thought we would take the time to write about it. Bob called the Village a few years back when the Mayor was going to buy Clow Airport. Bob, being a financial wiz, called the Mayor after seeing the local papers report that "buying the airport would cost the residents nothing... according to the Mayor." He realized at that point that the local newspapers were sugar coating everything to the residents, not doing any investigative journalism, and letting the government spend frivolously while keeping the tax payers in the dark. What he did not realize at the time was how much he would stumble on in his quest to find all the things they had done...
He called the Mayor's office and spoke to Roger. He asked to see the numbers, to show that the airport would not cost the residents anything. It is obvious to most that there would be a cost to purchase the airport, run, maintain, and grow the airport. All of this was denied as costing the residents, so Bob wanted to know if it was all grants or why it was not costing the tax payers. He wanted to understand Roger's statements to the press that the airport would not cost the residents any of their tax dollars. Roger did not react well.
One thing led to another and Bob's door was knocked on and his wife was threatened. All because he questioned a government that lied to the people. It did cost the residents, and still is losing money year over year. Plus the initial debt to buy it was a great deal of money... This led Bob to look into the Bonds used to pay for this and other recent risky expenditures, such as the Airport, Golf Course, and Americana Estates.
In 2009 when Bonnie decided to run for office, Bob sought her out to join forces with her investigations. He was thrilled that her candidacy would inform the residents of the truth behind the current administration. Until this point, most people that lived in Bolingbrook did not know how much debt or corruption Bolingbrook was suffering from. This was because the papers had been bullied, pushed, and pulled by the Mayor for years. Together, Bob, Bonnie, and many other residents formed the first watch dog group under the web site Bolingbrookmayor.com and ran a campaign for Bonnie to run for Mayor while exposing the truth.
Two years later, Bob is still fighting the same issues. He is sure that the efforts pushed forward in the last two years have exposed the current administration and is looking forward to an election season that will get fresh blood on the board to stop the corruption and expose it at its roots.
With an increase in media, blogs, and other other sources, the residents will not have to deal with the corruption or misspending much longer. His tenacity to help Bolingbrook reach a better future, with lower taxes and better community service, will pave his way through this election. He has worked hard at understanding the local situation, which places him above the current rubber stamp trustees who have had their chance to make a positive difference and have failed.

Bob gets my vote. I see him on Channel 6 every Village Board meeting giving the Village Board great money saving ideas (which of course they studiously ignore). Bob is a true blue reformer and exactly what Bolingbrook needs.
