Bolingbrook and Romeoville lack 4 star hotels. So when out of town guests come in, it is hard to chose a good hotel for them to stay at. One resident wrote us this story and wanted to spread the word...
"I looked up hotels on Hotel.com and chose the Best Western on Normantown and Weber for my family. I chose this location because the price was low but it was being touted as a luxury hotel. Terry clothed robes and jetted tubs were listed in all the rooms.
Upon arrival and check in, the room had none of those amenities, no remote control and the clock was broken. When I called down, the night attendant argued with me to the point I had to use my own laptop and show him this false advertisement. I wanted to leave ASAP but since the manager was not there to offer a refund, i was stuck. I was stuck for three days because there was NO MANAGER present all weekend.
The walls were paper thin, people loud at all hours, and all the front desk people were really rude. When their continental breakfast turned into "we offer only free hard donuts", I was even more upset. Their waffle maker had no supplies, the cereal had no bowls, and the juice no cups. I was then told that it was a Continental breakfast because I could run upstairs, get my Styrofoam cup and use that to eat my cereal. This is what they called a luxury hotel amenity.
I am still awaiting my refund back, as the Corporate office cannot even get the hotel to call me back.
I would advise that if residents of Bolingbrook and Romeoville set up hotels for themselves and family to have a place to stay, that you look into the hotel and not trust what the internet states. Those companies only post what the management of the establishments want them to post. Those managers are bold face liars and need to be arrested for fraud! What a bad way for tourists to learn about Bolingbrook and Romeoville!"
To which we respond, "We will post this on our site and hope and pray the Bolingbrook Mayor and Romeoville Mayor address the issues of tourism and standards of hotels in their communities."
