Pay to Play hurts campaign of some incumbents

The school race shows the residents what happens when the wrong people are in control.  The acceptance of $9K from the teachers union has sparked interest among many residents (and teachers that did not want their union dues going to these incumbents).  This happened AFTER we published that it is OK to get endorsements, but taking money is another issue.

The people running for election need to be non-biased when spending your tax dollars.  Now they are beholden to the donators and have to give them something in return.  This is a thought that sickens tax payers.  This is the problem with IL corruption in politics.  This is the reason Blago and Ryan both went down into history as hardened white collar criminals.  Steve Quigley, Leo Venegas, and Rick Gougis did not see an issue with this and took a large sum of money for a small local election from someone that they need to negotiate fair contracts with, including being fair to WE THE TAXPAYERS.

In the Village Trustee race, Trustee, Rick Morales, Leroy Brown, and Pat Shanks did the same.  They took donations from a vendor, which is an overpaid, politically connected, high priced attorney.

All the other opponents running did not take large donations, only endorsements.  They did not want to be hit with favoritism and Pay to Play allegations as the above people did. They wanted their votes to be in the best interest of the residents.

I guess the bottom line here is to vote against these people so that your tax money goes to the right place.
