Did you know that when you vote, if you cannot pick a candidate for a specific office, you can leave the circle blank? Did you know that this tells the elected officials that someone voted and would not vote for them?
For example, in the last election, over one thousand people did not vote for a Mayor on the ballot. It could be that they did not remember Bonnie'e name or felt that there was NO CANDIDATE worthy of that vote. This tells Mr. Claar that 25% of the people that came out to vote, would NOT vote for him or anyone. Sometimes it is not about who votes for you, but who doesn't.
So when you come out to vote, but do not know if you like ANY candidate, leave it blank.
It speaks volumes!
One example is that I will only vote for one person on the Library this year. I will vote for Kyra Lopez, even though there are 4 seats open. I want the other library candidates to know that I DO NOT SUPPORT what they do. Although no one ran against them it does not mean I have to vote for them.
Once they see that 5,000 people voted and none of them got more then 10 votes, maybe they will re-think their actions.
