Election Affiliations

I have been asked by some candidates to write an article about affiliations.  Since the election is winding up to April 5 Election Day, there are some candidates that are attempting to align their names with other candidates.  So let's clear up the record of who is who on the Village polls.

Bob Bowen, Rhonda reed-Slaughter, and Joe Napionello are aligned in two ways.  First, their platforms for transparency, fiscal responsibility, and stopping pay-to-play are pretty equal.  All three candidates see this as a huge problem in Bolingbrook that is preventing Bolingbrook from low taxes and better services.  Second, they are aligned as both the Will County Independent Party endorsements and the Bolingbrook Report endorsements.  They are solid candidates.  When going to the polls and having to pick three, they are the most obvious choice.

Ken Cygan has been attempting to align himself with these three, however, it is too late in the game to play ball.  He attacked both their friends working for government reform and the watchdog news sources early on and only now realizes that he stands alone with a weak, fence straddling, platform.

Cozy Nash is supported by members of the DuPage Democratic Party.

Leroy Brown, Rick Morales, and Pat Shanks are running on a platform together.  These three are the current incumbents that would have done a better run had they ran individually.  Their rubber stamp track record cannot be over looked, nor can the debt they put the village under.  Their platform is running on "leadership."  It is not on fiscal responsibility (where they have failed miserably), it is not on service (where they have also failed), it is not on transparency (you cannot even get their email from their campaign sites), or any other major issue facing Bolingbrook.  So they run on "leadership" as their sole and group platform.  So if you want your leaders to look the other way (and lead your Village into bankruptcy) but do nothing but be a vacant barbie doll, then you have your selection!

  1. All you have to do is go to the Village of Bolingbrook site www.bolingbrook.com and you can find their home addresses, phone numbers and emails. I'm still trying to find Rhonda, Bob, or Joe' home addresses and phone numbers posted anywhere. Last questionnaire I saw for Bob was answered primarily Did Not Respond. How does that rate as transparency??
